My Background

 

Sandy Turley earned her B.A. in Liberal Studies/Multiple Subjects from San Diego State University (SDSU) in December 1986 and her Ryan Clear Credential through San Bernardino State University (SBSU) in June 1991. She has also earned additional educational certificates, including a Cross Cultural, Language, and Academic Development (CLAD) certificate from the University of California, San Diego, in August 1998 and a Reading Certificate from UCSD in December 2000. Sandy taught Kindergarten to 2nd Grade for 25 years in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District in Fallbrook, CA, during which she received numerous awards.

Among her accolades are the Reading Award of Excellence from the Greater San Diego Reading Association in 2002, Fallbrook Street School Teacher of the Year (2001-2002), Fallbrook Union Elementary School District Teacher of the Year (2002-2003), and Fallbrook Homeschool Academy Teacher of the Year (2014-2015). Sandy is also featured in the Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers for the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 editions. She has been an Educational Presenter at the SDE National “I Teach First Grade” conference in July 2008 and at the Southern California Kindergarten Conference in March 2014.

In addition to her teaching career, Sandy has authored numerous books and teacher resources under her business name, Helps4Teachers, available on Teachers Pay Teachers. She currently holds a Utah Professional Educator’s license for Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education, and a California reading certificate.
